Passes & Access

The nitty-gritty on tickets, guests, and securing your seat at the table.

What does my pass get me?

In short: Everything. Your ticket covers your seat, power, and network access, plus all your meals, snacks, and drinks for the whole weekend. You just need to bring yourself and your PC.

Can I buy a day pass?

Usually, yes. We typically release day passes once the Early Bird sale ends. For specifics, either check out the Event Info page or join our Discord for the latest updates.

I bought a day pass but I want to stay for the whole weekend. Can I upgrade?

Absolutely! If you’re having too much fun to leave (and provided we haven’t hit max capacity), you can easily upgrade your pass. Just flag down an organizer, pay the difference in ticket price, and the weekend is yours.

Can I bring along friends or guests?

Only if they have a ticket. Due to venue capacity and security, we cannot have unregistered guests wandering in. If your buddy or clanmates want to join in on the fun, tell them to snag a pass!

That said, if you just want a quick tour to check out the vibe, reach out to an organizer over Discord——we’d be happy to show you around.

Can I reserve seats?

We do not offer assigned seating—it is strictly first-come, first-served. If you are part of a clan or group that wants to sit together, your best bet is to coordinate your arrival and roll up to the venue at the same time. Saving a spot for a buddy who is parking the car is fine, but draping coats over a whole row for ghosts who might show up later is not.

However, if you require specific seating accommodations (e.g. accessibility needs), please reach out to an organizer over Discord beforehand and we will get you sorted.

I’d like to attend but don’t have access to a gaming computer. Can I still come?

Technically, yes. You could spend the weekend on the sim rigs or lounging in the console area, but you’d be doing yourself a massive disservice since this is primarily a BYOPC-focused event. Instead, jump into our Discord and ask around! Our community is full of generous folks, and it’s very likely someone has a spare PC they’d be willing to lend you for the weekend.

I can’t make it anymore. Can I get a refund?

We don’t have an official refund policy, but we know life happens. If something comes up, please reach out to an organizer ASAP and we’ll see what we can do.

Games & Schedule

What we play, when we play it, and why K/D ratios are irrelevant here.

What games do you play?

We play a mix of everything, but we champion fun above all else. Check out our Games page for the full breakdown of scheduled games, persistent servers, and plenty more.

Is the entire weekend scheduled?

Not even close. We have a handful of ‘Main Events’ at specific times (which are totally optional), but the rest of the weekend is open for free-play, exploring our dedicated servers, or just hanging out. Think of it as a marathon, not a sprint.

What if I suck at video games?

You are in the right place. We designed this entire weekend for socialized mayhem, not for esports contracts. If you can mash buttons and laugh when you randomly explode, you’re more than qualified.

Do I need to download the games beforehand?

It definitely helps! Check the Games page and try to update the big titles before you arrive. However, we host a local LANcache over a fibre network, so downloading popular games on-site should be lightning fast.

Food & Drink

The vital stats on how we plan to keep you fed, hydrated, and kicking for 72 straight hours.

Is food included?

Yes! Your ticket covers all major meals, plus a steady stream of snacks and drinks to keep you fueled throughout the weekend. We aim for variety (it won’t just be pizza for 4 days straight). Check the Event Info page for the full menu.

I don’t plan on eating the provided food. Can I get a discount on my ticket?

Unfortunately, no. To maintain the sanity of our organizers and keep logistics simple, all tickets are sold as a flat, all-inclusive package. Whether you feast like royalty or survive solely on the energy of the cosmos (and personal pocket taters), the ticket price remains the same.

The schedule lists specific meal times. Do I have to stop gaming? What if I miss it?

Not at all. The listed times just indicate when fresh, hot food is being served. Once that window closes, the main spread is packed away for food safety reasons, but don’t fret. We typically make plenty, so leftovers are usually available in the fridge for you to reheat whenever you find a spare moment.

You are free to eat at your own pace and place, whether that’s mingling at the console cove or heading right back to your rig.

I have a food allergy. Can you accommodate me?

We do our best! During registration, please use the Dietary Restrictions field to list any allergies or needs. The sooner we know, the better we can plan the menu for everyone.

Please be aware that for everyone’s safety, there is a strict blanket ban on all tree nuts and sesame products within the venue. Visit the Event Info page for more details.

Can I bring my own food?

You can, provided you stick to the allergen rules on the Event Info page. Just know there’s no prep space and the fridge is basically full already. But considering the amount of food we’re providing, bringing your own is a bit like bringing sand to the beach.

Can I bring alcohol?

Yes, the event is BYOB for anyone 18+. Please drink responsibly. We’re here to game, not to babysit.

Gear & Hardware

What to pack, what to leave at home, and how to avoid the “I forgot my cables” walk of shame.

What do I strictly need to bring?

You’ll need the essentials: your PC, a single monitor, and your core peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset). Most importantly, double-check that you’ve packed the power cables for both your PC and monitor. It’s the easiest thing to forget, so take a look before you leave!

For more specifics, check out the ALBT Checklist.

How much desk space do I have?

You will be sharing a 6-foot table with one other LAN goer, meaning your dedicated game space is exactly 3-feet wide by 2.5-feet deep. Please ensure your entire setup fits strictly within those bounds. We also maintain a roomy 7-foot aisle between desk rows (edge-to-edge), so there is plenty of clearance for your chair and for people to walk by.

Is there a monitor size limit?

Please keep it reasonable. Monitors up to 32″ are generally fine. However, the golden rule is that your equipment must fit entirely within your allocated space. If your screen encroaches on your neighbour’s area or is deemed a safety hazard (like a large TV), you will be asked to remove it.

Do I need to bring a 100ft ethernet cable and my own 32-outlet power bar?

No, we provide all required networking and power. Each guest receives one gigabit ethernet connection and is allotted two plugs (one for your PC, one for your monitor). Do not bring your own power bar to daisy chain, otherwise you best believe that’s a paddlin’.

Can I bring my own chair?

Absolutely. We provide standard folding chairs, but if you have a throne you prefer, bring it along. Just please ensure the feet are rubber/plastic or felted to prevent damage to the ballroom floor. Your butt and back will thank you on day three.

Can I bring my VR headset?

Sure, but strictly for seated play. We don’t have space for room-scale setups, and out of respect for your neighbours (and their stuff), anything requiring flailing limbs is not permitted.

What about other peripherals?

Again, the golden rule for gear is simple: if it fits, it sits. As long as your setup fits physically within your assigned desk space, doesn’t blind or deafen your neighbours, and won’t pop a breaker, you’re good to go.

Venue & Logistics

The lay of the land, from parking your car to crashing under your desk.

When can I drop off my gear?

Doors open at noon each day. Please bring your gear with you then, as the venue is not accessible prior to that time.

Where can I park or unload?

Dedicated free parking is located along the East side of the building, with plenty of street parking nearby. The main entrance is at the front, but if you prefer direct unloading access, you can use the rear door. Please note this is for active unloading only. Once your gear is inside, you must move your car to the main lot.

The door is kept locked for security, so just ping an organizer on Discord before you rock up and we can let you in.

Do the doors lock at night?

While the event runs 24/7, the building’s exterior doors will lock at midnight for security. If you leave after hours, make sure you have a plan to get back in! You can coordinate with a buddy to open the door for you, or ping your presence in the #general channel on Discord.

Please do not prop the doors open, or we will have to have a very awkward conversation.

Can I sleep at the venue?

Yes, you can crash here. However, there is no set quiet area, so be prepared for non-ideal conditions (ambient light, noise, etc.). Floor space is first-come, first-served, and you are responsible for your own gear. Head on over to the ALBT Checklist page for specifics.

Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible via the rear entrance. However, we keep that door locked for security reasons, so please reach out to an organizer via Discord or our Contact Form in advance to coordinate your arrival. If you would like an extra hand getting your gear inside, just let us know and we’ll be happy to help.

Rules & Network

A short guide on keeping the ping low and the banhammer in its holster.

Can I torrent?

Absolutely not. Torrenting kills the bandwidth for everyone else. If you are caught, you will be asked to stop immediately. If it happens again, you will be asked to leave without a refund. Don’t be that person.

Can I stream to Twitch/YouTube?

You can try, provided it doesn’t impact others. If your bandwidth usage causes network lag or your setup becomes a nuisance to your neighbours, you will be asked to stop.

Community & Contact

Who runs this digital circus, how to help out, and where to direct your ire.

You’re seriously doing this over Valentine’s weekend? Are you crazy?

Look, some people find sitting through the 7th awkward proposal at an overcrowded restaurant to be peak romance.

We personally prefer hot home-cooked meals with friends, basking in the warm glow of many monitors, and being serenaded by the dulcet hum of a GPU under load. It’s an acquired taste, but if you’re already this deep into the FAQ, we have a feeling it’s your love language too.

You keep saying “ask an organizer”. Who the heck is that?

Great question! On our Discord, you can spot us by our name colour (Yellow or Blue) or by the LANLord/LANCom role. If you’d rather not use Discord, you can also head over to the Contact Us page to email us any of your questions or concerns.

I’d like to help with setup and/or teardown. Is there a way for me to volunteer?

That is awesome of you to ask. Reach out to an organizer over Discord or hit us up through the Contact Form, and we’ll connect you with our volunteer coordinator.

How can I help spread the word?

We love you for asking. Honestly, word of mouth is our bread and butter. Tell your friends, share our website, join our Discord, post about us on your socials, or drag a squadmate along to the next one. The bigger the community, the better the party.
